Brilliant! That is all I ever want for these posts - just to make people laugh and feel a bit lighter for it. Thanks for reading :)

“Fuckwittery” is perhaps my new favorite word. My Friday mornings are so much better with your essays. I just adore them.

I definitely didn't invent it! But I'm so glad you found it. Now go forth and pronounce it with abandon!

If I give you a standing ovation, and nobody's here to see it, did it really happen?

Yes. Yes it did. 👏

I’m absolutely crying into my wine over this Georgina 🤣🤣 (just to be clear, it’s 7pm in Australia so wine is acceptable). This is surely your magnum opus. A question, wrapped in a riddle, doused in a mystery and covered in pieces of burnt hair. I LOVE IT! You can stand under my umbwala-ala-ala-ala-eh-eh

Haha I'm so happy you liked it, Sara! Thank you (and your kids) SO MUCH for the umbwala!

"Luckily, it’s now considered a form of hate speech to try to teach a person something they don’t know. Instead we have ‘student-centred learning’ – which means you act as though the student knows everything already and is the arbiter of great wisdom. A sort of ‘noble savage’ character, if you will, with trackies and vape pen in place of loincloth and spear."

That's a classic line!

I can't say that I'm not guilty of some of the reactions you've described. It's bloody annoying being told you're wrong, excruciating when you realise that you are.

Oh yes, absolutely. There's nothing worse than finding out you're wrong and someone else knows better than you! I hate it, too. But to be fair, it does get easier with time and practice!

In the early days of social media I was continuously outraged! It thickened my skin, which is about the only good thing I can say for Facebook.

Haha I think many of us had the same experience!

And not only "umbwala", BUT you got "defenestration" in there too. I'm so impressed. (How many marks do I get for paying attention, Miss Bollocks?)

Haha ten points to you! Any day I get the word 'defenestration' into a post is a good day 🤣

Why thank you, I shall wear my ten points with pride!

This was fantastic.

I certainly hope so because I have a lotttttta questions.

Also, the change of her name from Bullock to Bollocks is nothing short of genius. 👏👏

SUBSCRIBED!

I'm so happy you enjoyed it! The Bollocks was all down to the student - to this day I have no clue whether that was a genuine mistake! So funny!

Thanks so much for subscribing! I hope I can keep making you laugh 😊

"And if I’d wanted to spend twenty-five years listening to tiny twerps whose hobbies were collecting Pokemon and bickering about cartoons, surely I would have gone into academia instead." And the Rihanna joke! You made me laugh, Georgina!
